Architecture
The Yarrabung Residence reimagines Spanish colonial architecture for contemporary living, where traditional Mediterranean elements merge with modern Australian design sensibilities. The façade's defining feature is its sequence of Moorish-inspired arches, their proportions carefully scaled to create covered loggias that offer both shelter and visual drama.
Authentic materials ground the design in Spanish tradition: terracotta roof tiles weather to a rich patina, while render in warm ivory provides textural depth. Wrought iron balustrades and window grilles showcase intricate craftsmanship, their geometric patterns casting ever-changing shadows across sun-washed walls.
The interior spatial flow reflects the Spanish courtyard tradition, with rooms arranged around a central atrium that draws natural light deep into the home. The kitchen and living spaces open onto a series of interconnected terraces.
Through thoughtful interpretation of Spanish architectural principles, the Yarrabung Residence achieves more than aesthetic homage—it creates a home where historical references and modern comfort coalesce naturally.
